2017 Fraser Valley Open

The 2017 Fraser Valley Open, one of the largest professional and amateur prize purse golf tournaments on the Vancouver Golf Tour schedule, is finally less than two weeks. The team at First Class Waste is excited to sponsor the fourth annual Fraser Valley Open, and about getting to watch some of British Columbia’s best professional and amateur golfers tee off over the Labour Day weekend.

Fraser Valley Open Tournament Details

The Fraser Valley Open is a three-day, fifty-four hole tournament that will host 40 of British Columbia’s leading golf professionals and 80 amateur golfers on three different golf courses over the Labour Day weekend (September 1-3, 2017). This year the Fraser Valley Open’s Organizing Committee is working closely with Tourism Chilliwack and Tourism Harrison Hot Springs in order to prepare to welcome BC’s top amateur and golfing professional to the Chilliwack and Harrison Hot Spring region. This year’s tournament is expected to field 120 players (40 professionals and 80 amateurs), drawing a professional purse size of $25,000 and an amateur purse size of $33,000.

Tournament Courses

The 2017 Fraser Valley Open will be held at three golf courses in the Chilliwack and Harrison Hot Springs region: Chilliwack Golf Club, Sandpiper Golf Course, and the Falls Golf Club.

Chilliwack Golf Club

The Chilliwack Golf Club is a semi-private facility located between Chilliwack and Abbotsford. Established back in 1958, this golf club now has more than 500+ members, seeing more than 50,000 rounds of golf played last year alone. With its magnificent tree-lined fairways, breathtaking mountain views, and a creek that meanders through the back nine, it is no surprise that the Chilliwack Golf Club is a popular destination for golfers and tournaments alike.

Sandpiper Golf Course

The Sandpiper Golf Course is a par-72 course that runs 6,500 yards and features four sets of tees for all playing abilities. Recent winner of the PGA of BC’s “Hidden Gem” award, the Sandpiper offers spectacular water and mountain vistas that are sure to take your breath away. The Sandpiper Golf Course was expertly designed by the Canadian course designer, Russ Olsen, and has played host to several Vancouver Golf Tours events.

The Falls Golf Club

The Falls Golf Club boasts some of the most dramatic landscaping, offering rolling terrain with natural rock outcroppings and tall cedars, which both come into play throughout the golf course. With views that span across the scenic Fraser Valley and elevation changes that total over 750 feet, the challenge and scenery of the Falls Golf Course is considered by locals to be one of BC’s best-kept secrets.
